Complexity: Moderate
Time Investment: About half an hour
We have been using our juicer a lot to make wholesome, fresh juices whenever possible. My son even gets involved! (Click here to see his video.) I find it much healthier than commercially available juice, and the quality of homemade juice is far superior.
Today’s recipe is orange pineapple juice. This is a welcome treat in the cold, wet weather we’re having in NYC right now. Read along to find out how I made it.
Ingredients
- 1 pineapple
- 5 oranges
Much of what to do is seen in the video above. Slice and peel the oranges into quarters so that they fit into the chute of the juicer. Put them aside in a large bowl.
Tear off the leaves of the pineapple. Slice into quarters, then slice off the outer bark. Slice into small pieces that will fit into the chute.

Add the fruit into the juicer, alternating groups of pineapple and then groups of oranges. Do this until you’re done.
The juice will be very pulpy. I prefer mine a little thinner, so I strained it through a strainer. You could use a finer grain strainer, or even strain the juice through a double layer of cheesecloth.

Clean Up
Fortunately, the pulp is easy to scrub out of the juicer. Scrape it out with a plastic fork, then use a kitchen brush to scrub the juicer with warm, sudsy water. Throw away the fruit peelings, and you’re done.
This juice can be made in the morning before school, or as an after school treat. It really isn’t difficult to make!
Closing Thoughts
Try this juice for yourself. Let me know what you think. And what the family thinks. Did you try to emulate it as is, or did you put a different spin on it? I’d like to hear from you!
Take care, and influence someone for good today :D

Hi, and thanks for stopping by!
I'm glad you like this post. This juice is heavenly, let me tell you. There is a real difference between store bought and home made. My children finish this stuff so fast!
Glad you like the photographs, too. I enjoy taking photos before I sere the food. The children tell me to hurry up, though :D
