The web is burning up with news of a mouse found in a Junior’s cheesecake display last week. The photos (courtesy brooklynian.com) of a mouse in the display peering from between two cakes and between two platters certainly makes even the hardest of NY stomachs turn watery. What does this mean for the iconic cheesecake and its legendary founders?
New Yorkers are die-hard food fans, and NY is a very dirty city. With something near 10 million persons trudging through it daily, there is bound to be dirt and vermin. Even with the most stringent efforts, something is likely to slip through the cracks...sometimes literally. I’m pretty sure this will impact Junior’s negatively, especially with the shopping season coming. The photos will likely leave a bad taste in NYers mouths!
I hope they are able to settle the matter quickly and institute practices to make sure this doesn’t happen again. While I do not eat there (I’m a vegan!), I do know many individuals who frequent the legendary food place and have built many fond memories there... All the best, Junior’s!
Take care, and influence someone for good today :D

It is a sickening shame that a Giant like Juniors has to have its rodent situation plastered on the internet. New York does have a huge infestation of vermin amongst other pests however, I am so ANGRY because I wanted a strawberry shortcake for my upcoming birthday. However instead think that I will ask my dear husband to bake a cake instead and save our money and our nauseating thoughts! Hopefully as you stated Brother H, I pray that the situation resolves itself before it takes a turn for the worse!!!...LCAdd
Hi LCAdd.
Thanks for commenting! Yes, vermin and food together make for some lasting, albeit nauseating, memories... There are some places that i still won't go to after the shock of seeing...the unmentionable :)
It would be good for hubby to bake you a cake. If he does, take pictures!
